Granite Peak Montana, 12,799'/3900m August 8, 2008 Montana's Highest
In August of 2008, Chris Tomer joined me for the first of two peak climbs in the same trip. We headed to Montana's Granite peak for a Class 5 ascent of Montana's highest peak. Below are a few photos of the adventure. You can also view our trip report from Chris' Fox News website at:
4pm-6pm Hiked to camp at Mystic Lake.
4am left camp and traversed the Froze to Death Plateau
9am summited the peak, stayed on the top for an hour.
10am-4pm Descended via Avalanche Gulch back to Mystic Lake camp in a rainstorm.
7am-9am departed mystic lake back to the TH.
